Minutes: A report of the Clerk to the Fire and Rescue Authority was presented which sought a decision from Members on ‘Gold Book’ employees of fire service pay (i.e. Brigade Managers).
A final pay award for all ‘Gold Book’ employees of fire services (i.e. Brigade Managers) had been proposed by the National Employers for the Fire Service (the NJC for Brigade Managers of Fire and Rescue Services). On 31 May 2023 the pay award had been agreed, which proposed a settlement of 4.0% and 3.5% per annum from January 2022 and January 2023. It was noted that the caps on annual increases as previously proposed had now been removed.
RESOLVED – That Members:-
i) Considered and commented on the Gold Book Pay.
ii) The Authority determined that Brigade Managers receive the same pay award as their Grey Book (firefighter) counterparts. This would mean an increase of 7% from 1 January 2022 and then an increase of 5% from 1 January 2023. |
